Hello,

My name is Talia, and I am the face behind the lens at Zoë Rose Photography. I am a lifestyle and family photographer, mom of two, and former labor and delivery nurse. Our in home studio is nestled in the heart of Kirkland, WA.

I spent most of my early adult life as a labor and delivery nurse, helping families bring new life into the world. Through this work I was able to bear witness to the incredible strength and beauty of the female body. I have also always had a love for photography - for capturing the essence of a moment and preserving it in time.

Several years ago, my best friend confided in me how she didn’t feel like herself anymore in her post partum body. She had a young child and after birth she said it no longer felt like her own. I convinced her to allow me to take some boudoir photos. I wanted her to see what I saw: raw and real beauty in all her body had done. Seeing her view the photos, I realized I’d tapped into something so poignant and real - helping women see and honor their bodies exactly as they are and celebrate them for what they have done and all they have endured. And, I knew then that wanted to continue that work for the other women in my life. So, Zoë Rose Photography was born. Originally we did solely boudoir photos, but have since grown to offer Maternity and Family sessions, as well.

Being photographed is scary - we are our own harshest critics and it can be hard to silence that inner monologue about what could or should be different. I believe my history as a labor and delivery nurse allows me to be comfortable with all aspects of the female form, and built rapport quickly and easily in situations that may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable for many people.

In addition to my love of boudoir, I am also passionate about family portraiture, specifically capturing candid and real moments shared among family. During a family session, my goal is to capture the essence of a family as they move through the world. I shoot primarily with a telephoto lens to allow you to play and interact naturally without a camera in your face. I find that this gives beautiful and authentic pictures that you will cherish for a lifetime. As such, all family sessions are on location, either outdoors or in public spaces, to truly capture unique and genuine moments as they unfold in the world.
