Who we are
Hello,
My name is Talia, and I am the face behind the lens at Zoë Rose Photography. I am a lifestyle photographer, mom of two, and former labor and delivery nurse. Our studio is nestled in the heart of Kirkland, WA.
I spent most of my early adult life as a labor and delivery nurse, helping families bring new life into the world. Through this work I was able to bear witness to the incredible strength and beauty of the female body. I have also always had a love for photography - for capturing the essence of a moment and preserving it in time.
Several years ago, my best friend was complaining to me about her body. She had a young child and after birth she said it no longer felt like her own. I convinced her to allow me to take some boudoir photos. I wanted her to see what I saw: raw and real beauty in all her body had done. Seeing her view the photos, I realized I’d tapped into something so poignant and real - helping women see and honor their bodies exactly as they are and celebrate them for what they have done and all they have endured. And, I knew then that wanted to continue that work for the other women in my life, and so, Zoë Rose Photography was born. Originally we did solely boudoir photos, but have since branched into maternity (which leans boudoir), as well as Family Mini sessions for established clients.
Taking photographs of your body is scary - we are our own harshest critics and it cane be hard to silence that inner monologue about what could or should be different. I believe my history as a labor and delivery nurse allows me to be comfortable with all aspects of the female form, and built rapport quickly and easily in situations that may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable for many people. You are safe here. And you are so beautiful - let me show you.
